Obituary of Rudolph "Rudy" Davor Dukich

Rudolph “Rudy” Davor Dukich, 97, of Rivesville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2018, at the John Manchin Sr. Healthcare Center in Fairmont. Rudy was born in Thurber, TX on August 24, 1920, a son of the late Kuzma Dukich and Amelia Garbac Dukich.

Mr. Dukich is survived by his wife, Mary Pitzer Dukich; a daughter, Debra Dukich of Morgantown; a daughter-in-law, Susan Dukich of Steubenville, OH; two grandchildren, Ryan Dukich and his wife Karly of Pittsburgh and Alison Dukich Burrell and her husband Jonathan of Weirton; four great grandchildren, Jace, Camden, Ellie and Anastasia; a brother, William Dukich of San Pedro, CA; two nieces, Carolyn Dooley and Dorinda Webb; as well as two special family friends, Bonny Miller and Nedra Wolfe.

In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Miller Dukich; a son, David George Dukich; two brothers, Joseph Dukich and Charles “Chuck” Dukich and a sister, Amelia “Emma” Dukich.

Rudy served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945 in the Admiralty Islands. He worked as a life insurance agent with Equitable Life Insurance Company prior to working as a mechanic for Eastern Gas and Fuel for 30 years.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. David Cyphers officiating.
