Obituary of Edna Willovene Fleming

Edna Willovene Fleming, 95, of Fairmont, WV, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at her son’s home.  She was born September 28, 1922 in Tunnelton, WV a son of the late Ona Pearl and Lenora Grace Bolyard Wiles.

Mrs. Fleming was a former member of Christ United Methodist Church in Fairmont.  She was a 1941 graduate of Tunnelton High School.  Edna retired from the Thorofare Market in Fairmont with over 30 years as a cashier.  She previously had worked at the Westinghouse Corporation.  She was a 1940 Buckwheat Princess.  She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star Chapter 143 of Newburg and a former member of the BPW.  Edna enjoyed working crossword puzzles, researching genealogy, watching WVU sports and the Steelers.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son , James and his wife Sharon Fleming of Fairmont, her grandchildren, Shaun and his wife Jenny Fleming of Bridgeport and Erin and her husband Nathan McVicker of Fairmont, three great grandchildren, Hailee Fleming, Quinn and Clark McVicker, a sister, Nola Chambers of Tunnelton, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her brother Arthur Wiles and her sister Lillian Elder.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff of Amedysis Hospice and the Marion County Senior Center.

Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 12 noon until 4PM and from 6PM until 8PM, and on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 10 AM until 11AM.  The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11AM with the Reverend Jim Zinn officiating.  Interment will follow at the Mt.
