Obituary of Eva Wiens Sharp
Eva Wiens Sharp, 92, of Monumental Road (Buttermilk Hill) passed away early Saturday evening in her residence. She was born April 12, 1925 in Marion County, WV, daughter of the late John and Rella Fullen Wiens. Mrs. Sharp was a lifetime member of Ballah Chapel United Methodist Church in Grant Town, WV. She was a graduate of Fairview High School. She was co-owner – operator, with her husband, of Sharp’s Esso / Exxon in Fairmont, WV, with over 30 years of service. She earlier was employed at Westinghouse Corporation during WWII and later worked as a clerk at the service desk for Hills Department Store, with 10 years of service. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years at Ballah Chapel United Methodist Church. She very much enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Bushnell, FL. She also was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband, Harold Leon Sharp of Monumental Rd. (Happily married for 74 years), a daughter and her husband, Elaine and Keith McClung of Chester, WV, 2 sons, Randy and his wife Crystal Sharp of Monumental Rd. and Timothy Alan Sharp of Albany, OH, 13 grandchildren, Jeff and Gloria McClung, John and Tiffany McClung, Alex McClung, Rebecca and Mike Henderson, Susanna and Mike Rice, Heather and Ryan Ward, Holly Wilson, Alan and Joy Sharp, Eva Courtney Sharp, Casey Sharp, Casie Sharp, James Sharp, and Josh Sharp, 9 great grandchildren, Madison McClung, John McClung, Jacob Rice, Alaine Rice, Lillie Rice, Breydon Wilson, Sidda Wilson, Rhett Ward, and Angela Sharp, a sister, Linda Willis of Jacksonville, FL, a brother, Carl Wiens of Cleveland, OH, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, John and Rita Wiens, a sister and her husband, Ann and Paul McCoy, and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Wiens. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday. Visitation will continue from 10am until 11am on Wednesday at Ballah Chapel United Methodist Church in Grant Town, WV. Funeral services will be held in the church Wednesday, 7-26-2017, at 11am, with Pastor Duane Stiles officiating. Burial will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, WV.
