Obituary of Betty Lou Riffee
Betty Lou Riffee, 90, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. Betty was born on August 24, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles and Hallie Westfall Starcher. Betty was preceded in death in 1980 by her loving husband, Thornton Kenneth Riffee.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sheila Kittle and her husband Dennis of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Betty Harding and her husband Marshall, and Dennis Bryan Kittle and his wife Amy Lynn; four great grandchildren, Brady Russell Harding, Alex Kittle, Austin Kittle and Adam Kittle; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Damon “Bus” Starcher, Willard Starcher, Drexel Starcher, Robert “Blink” Starcher and Samuel “Bud” Starcher.
Betty was a member of Benton’s Ferry United Methodist Church. She retired in 1986 from the C & P Telephone Company where she worked for over 30 years as a service representative. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of the C&P Telephone Company.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Tennant officiating. A graveside service will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
