Obituary of Kit Charles Phares

Kit Charles Phares, 70, of Kingwood, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his residence.  He was born December 5, 1946 in Clarksburg, WV a son of Zelma Stewart Phares Audia and the late William Joseph Phares.

Kit was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown.  He was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg and attended Fairmont State College.  Kit retired from Consol Energy as a safety supervisor with over 32 years of service and then served for over 7 years with the Health, Mine Safety and Training Division of the State of West Virginia.  He was an avid golfer at Preston County Country Club and also enjoyed fishing.  Kit loved his WVU Mountaineers and was a season ticket holder for both basketball and football.  He enjoyed time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Kit is survived by his sons: Daniel and his wife Vickie Phares of Barrackville, WV; Charles and his wife Lisa Phares of Morgantown,WV; and Jim and his wife Caroline Phares of Summerville, SC.; his grandchildren: Samantha, Christopher, Amber, Zachary, Brooke, and Hayden Phares.

In addition to his parents, Kit was preceded in death by his brother, Monty Phares, and his best friend of over 50 years, Alan Lander.
