Obituary of Lauverna "Janey" Toothman

Lauverna J. “Janey” Toothman, 77, of Sugar Lane, Rivesville, WV, passed away early Sunday morning in Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born August 29, 1939 in Catawba Community daughter of the late Gordon and Lena “Kisner” Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Toothman in 2005, after 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Toothman was a Methodist by faith. She was employed as a cook, working for the Parkette, Poky Dot, Barbara Joyce, and Marones, all of Marion County. Janey enjoyed family activities and loved singing at the Sage Brush Roundup. She also enjoyed watching TV westerns and NASCAR racing. Survivors include 3 daughters and their husbands, Donna and Gary Abel of Fairmont, WV, Jessica Dawn Toothman of Clarksburg, WV, and Bethanne Nichole and Allen Heater of Marion County, WV, 3 sons and their spouses, Carl and Patty Toothman of Rivesville, WV, Ronald Toothman and friend Crazy of Sugar Lane Community, and Rodney Toothman and his fiancé Jenny Eakin of Parkersburg, WV,11 grandchildren, Jeremiah and Amanda Toothman, Amanda and Brandon Shoemaker, Kyle Toothman, Sophia Pierson, Samantha Thomas, Cheyenne Thomas, Lena Toothman, Alyvia Tuicker, Emelee Tucker, Christian Toothman, and Charles Asbury, 5 great grandchildren, Stella Toothman, Maggie Mae Shoemaker, Marshall Shoemaker, Madelyn Shoemaker (Tid-Bit), and Zane Bingamon, 2 special friends, Stephen Kirkpatrick and Sam Ours, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ellen White and a brother, George “Buck” Shaffer. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper St., Rivesville, WV from 2pm until 8pm on Wednesday and 11am until 1pm on Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Thursday, 6-15-2017, at 1pm, with Evangelist Brent Gallagher officiating.
