Obituary of James "Jim" David Fleming

James “Jim” David Fleming, 66, of Rivesville, West Virginia died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence.  He was born May 30, 1950 in Fairmont a son of the late Alvis Eugene Fleming & Margaret Mary Thomas Fleming.                    .

He is survived by 12 nieces and nephews Kevin, Leslie & Glenn Langdon, Heather Phillips, Eric Atchinson & Janette Clelland Atchinson, John, Bryan, Mark, Anthony & Ryan Fleming and Shelley Mowry, his Aunt Helen Carpenter, many great nieces & nephews, several great-great nieces & nephews, a brother in law David Atchinson and a sister in law Sandra Fleming.  He was preceded in death by a brother John Fleming, 2 sisters Jean Phillips & Janet Atchinson, one niece Tara Leah Fleming and one great niece Avery Clelland.  

Jim managed the family farm and was a diligent caretaker to his Aunt Julia Thomas and then to his parents.  He was a graduate of Rivesville High School.   

The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, June 3, 2017 from Noon – 2 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield    officiating.  The committal service will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Rivesville, WV.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.FORDFUNERALHOMES.com
