Obituary of Cora Sue Morris Cross

Cora Sue Morris Cross, 78, of Short St., Rivesville, WV, passed away Tuesday morning in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born September 3, 1937 in Mannington, WV, daughter of the late Ancle Boyd and Freda Mae Moore Morris. Mrs. Cross was a member of Rivesville United Methodist Church. Cora loved her children and grandchildren and was very proud of the people they had become. She loved her great grandchildren and was looking forward to seeing what they would become as they grew up. She enjoyed sewing and making cloths and other things for her children, family, and friends. Her Bibles were important to her and she spent countless hours studying them. She also greatly enjoyed singing various songs to her grandchild, John Paul. Survivors include 2 daughters, Patricia “Patty” Boyce of Rivesville, WV and Jacquie and her husband Chuck Porter of Farmington, WV, a son and his wife, Paul and Elizabeth Cross of Rivesville, WV, several grandchildren; John Paul Boyce of Rivesville, WV, Lewis and Rachel Boyce of Rivesville, WV, Jamie and Danielle Boyce of Mannington, WV, Nathan, Toby, and Noah Clouser of Fairmont, WV, CJ Porter of Mannington, WV, Jack Cross of Ravenna, OH, Katie and Mandy Cross of Rivesville, WV, several great grandchildren; Zachary and Brandon Cross of Ravenna, OH and Alexandria and Brendan Boyce of Mannington, WV, a brother and his wife, Larry and Regina Morris of Fairmont, WV, 2 sisters ,Nancy and her husband Jerry Martin of Fairmont, WV and Eva Williams of Virginia, a sister-in-law, Karen Morris of Mrytle Beach, SC, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Morris. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Cora's memory to the Rivesville UMC Food Pantry, PO Box 66, Rivesville, WV 26588. Mrs. Cross has chosen cremation services. A memorial service will be held at Rivesville United Methodist Church, 103 Jasper St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Amanda Reed officiating. A committal service will take place at McCurdysville Cemetery. Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel are handling funeral arrangements.
