Obituary of Louis Paul "Buck" Basile

Louis Paul “Buck” Basile was born December 31, 1936 to Frank and Mary Tarasuk Basile. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Anthony Basile. He is survived by wife, Cynthia Allen Basile; stepson, James Allen Brown and wife Angie; niece Barbara J. Basile and husband Philip Hamilton; sister-in-laws, Louise Basile, Kathleen Crawford and Karen Allen; and the large and loving Basile, Tarasuk, Allen, Lough, Serdich and Manchin extended families. Buck was a graduate of Fairmont State College. He taught high school and coached athletics in Ohio and Maryland. He taught in the Prince George County, Maryland, public schools for 18 years. Upon retirement from teaching he and Cyndy owned Basile Videography for 10 years in Fairmont, WV. He was an active member of the Rock Lake community. Buck was a prolific storyteller, writer, political commentator with a sharp wit and sense of humor. He was known for his enduring love and loyalty to family and friends. A friend of Bucky's was a friend forever. He took great pleasure in weekly reunions with friends for spaghetti at Colasessano's, the annual Boys of Autumn trips and fireside laughs. He influenced many with his sense of adventure, travels far and wide, photography and writings. Most of all, he was a man of integrity and is dearly missed. A celebration of life service will be held at Colasessano's.141 Middletown Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on February 26th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please join us to raise a toast and share memories of a wonderful life well lived.
