Obituary of Jacqua Lynn Cotter

Jacqua Lynn “Jackie” Cotter, 81, of Brushy Fork Road, Bridgeport, achieved her crowning moment as she went to the lord January 30, 2017. She was born in Clarksburg, April 3, 1935. She was the daughter of late Kenneth and Helen (Furbee) Evans of Clarksburg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years Robert Ellis Cotter. Jackie (affectionately known as Grandma Jackie or Ackie Ammaw), is survived by seven sons,17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her sons are Robert “Britt” Cotter, his wife Scottie of Tierra Verde, Florida, their adult children: Lauren (Cotter) Macauley, spouse Greg and children Wren and Britt Macauley of Dallas Texas, Megan Cotter of Houston, Texas and Justin Cotter of Austin, Texas; Joel Evans Cotter, his wife Annette of Morgantown, and their adult children Stefan, spouse Stephanie Cotter of Tyler, Texas and Emily Cotter of Morgantown; David Warfield Cotter, his wife Kim of St. Charles, Illinois, and their sons Graham Cotter of Key West, Florida, Camden and Christopher of St. Charles, Illinois; Jay Clinton Cotter, his wife Miriam of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and their adult children, Mason Cotter of Hilton Head Island, Ellis Cotter of Valdosta Georgia, and Evan of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Timothy Lynn Cotter, his wife Suzy, of Bridgeport and their children Griffin of Boca Raton, Florida, Cameron of Delray Beach, Florida and Wesley of Bridgeport; Jesse Dean Cotter, his wife Cathy and their children Casey, Jian and Jackson of Houston, Texas, and Christopher Todd Cotter of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Jackie is also survived by a sister, Chloe Ann (Evans) Chipps of Clarksburg and a brother Edward Evans of Land-o- Lakes, Florida. Jackie cherished life and devoted most of it to her family. She had countless friends and remained connected to many of her WI Alumni and Lake Floyd friends through the years. She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending Bible Study while she was able. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 2:00 PM. at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV. A family visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Jackie can be made to the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The Cotter family has entrusted the care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV.
