Obituary of Madolyn Yost Burch
Madolyn Yost Burch of Fairmont passed away at the St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home on January 15, 2017. She was born March 7, 1921 in Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late Guy Yost and Mabel Jolliffe Yost.
Madolyn was a retired employee of Fairmont Westinghouse Electric Corporation with 38 years of service. She held membership in the Order of the Eastern Star #34 of Fairmont and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She also was a member of the Fairmont YWCA, Prickett’s Fort Foundation, West Augusta Historical Society, AARP, and Marion County Senior Citizens. She was a Methodist by faith. She and her late husband were longtime residents and members of the Rock Lake Club of Fairmont where they were active within the community and had many longtime friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband William M. Burch, her brother Ernest Yost, and niece Linda McGrath. She is survived by a niece Janet Osborne, a nephew Ronald Reiter and their families in Virginia.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the staff of St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home for their abundant kindness, consideration and care of Madolyn, where she resided during her remaining years.
Friends may call at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, at 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 on Friday, January 20 from 10:00-12:00. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 20 at 12:00 with Rev. Valarie Gittings officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
