Obituary of Martha Ann Wilson

Martha Ann Wilson, 89, of Furbee Lane, Fairmont, WV, passed away Thursday morning in Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1927 in Farmington, WV, daughter of the late James Murl and Margaret Bennett Pitzer. She was also preceded in death by her husband George O. Wilson, who died in 2012. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong member of Life United Methodist Church, being a past- president of the United Methodist Women and active with the choir as secretary. She was active with Fairmont Senior Citizens, playing in the fun band. She was also involved in the Ladies Shrine and the Sweet Adeline Chorus. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Kathy and Jerry Haymond of Fairmont, WV, a son, George Wilson, Jr. of Fairmont, WV, 8 grandchildren; Chad and Heather Reese of Winchester, VA, Jason and Kim Reese of East Granby, CT, Jennifer and Matthew Ford of Fairmont, WV, Matthew and Carissa Haymond of Fairmont, WV, Beth Ann Haymond of Fairmont, WV, Jamie and Tommy Kerns of Fairmont, WV, Troy Wilson of Fairmont, WV, and Tyler Wilson of Fairmont, WV, 5 great grandchildren; Jacob Ford of Fairmont, WV, Haley Kerns of Fairmont, WV, Drew and Drake Reese of Winchester, VA, and Kilian Reese of East Granby, CT, a brother and his wife, James Ross and Connie Pitzer of Bradenton, FL, a sister and her hudband, Patty and Curt Fawley of New Port Richey, FL, a son-in-law, Bronson Reese of Fairmont, WV, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Louise Reese. Family and friends may call Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV on Sunday from 12noon until 8pm. Visitation will continue in Life United Methodist Church, Mary Lou Retton Dr., Fairmont, WV from 12noon until 1pm on Monday. Funeral services will be held in the Church Monday, January 16, 2017 at 1pm, with Rev. Larry Buckland and Rev. Clyde Beard officiating. Entombment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, WV.
