Obituary of Betty Y. Anderson

Betty Y. Anderson, 85, of Pike St., Barrackville, WV, passed away late Saturday evening in The Madison of Morgantown, WV. She was born March 15, 1931 in Marion County, WV, daughter of the late Nelson C. and Marzella M. Cook Satterfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd J. Anderson, who died in 2008. Betty was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ in Barrackville, WV. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. Betty retired from Owens Illinois, with 10 years of service in the Packing and labeling Department. She was later employed at Stone and Thomas in Fairmont, WV. She very much enjoyed holidays, family activities, and the many vacations at Myrtle Beach. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed watching sports and the cooking channel. Survivors include 2 sons and their spouses; Mark and Sally Anderson of Barrackville, WV and Roger and Carmela Anderson of Fairmont, WV, 6 grandchildren; Jennings and Elisha Anderson of Mannington, WV, Robbie Anderson of Barrackville, WV, Lea Ann and Josh Valentine of Morgan’s Ridge Community, Haley Anderson, Cassie Anderson, and Glen Anderson all of Barrackville, WV, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Loretta Everson. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV from 2pm until 8pm on Monday and 12noon until 2pm on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 2pm, with Evangelist Steve Snider officiating.Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV.
