Obituary of Seva Christine Hostutler

Seva Christine Boyce Hostutler, 97, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the home of her daughter Sherry, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born January 19, 1927 in Hammond, a daughter of the late Herman L. and Martha Cooper Boyce. She was preceded in death in 1998, by her loving husband Robert Wesley Hostutler. Christine was a Christian by faith. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College. She was a devout homemaker in her own home and dedicated her life to raising her four daughters. She was a “family person” at heart. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years, attending numerous sporting events, plays, and school activities. She loved vacationing with her daughters, having visited Punta Cana, Mexico several times with Sherry and Corki, and Florida with Chris on many occasions. Her family meant everything to her and her life centered around them. Christine is survived by her four daughters, Carolyn Hostutler, Sherry and her husband Ed Hill, Chris and her husband Jack Stewart, Corki and her husband Tom Pollock, all of Fairmont, her eight grandchildren: Rick (Theresa) Hill, Rob (Inez) Hill, Chad (Brooke) Hill, Randy (Kara) Stewart, Jason (Kami) Stewart, Aaron (Kelly) Pollock, Kristen (Todd) Mullenax, and Carrie (Kevin) McClain, her 16 great grandchildren, and her three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was preceded in death by her siblings: Johnny Boyce, Hiram Boyce, Nondice Griffith, Marie Cummings, Geraldine Satterfield, Maxine White, Beatrice Dailey, and an infant brother, Lester Lee Boyce. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Friends and family may visit the funeral home on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2PM until 8PM, and on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11AM with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating. Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
