Obituary of Heidi Anne Cress

Heidi Ann Cress, 48, passed away peacefully in her home with her husband, the love of her life by her side on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. She was born on May 4, 1976, the daughter to the late John and Susan Ritchie Schmidt. She is survived by her loving husband, James Allen Cress, Sr. In addition to her husband, Heidi is survived by her children, Bryce Thibodeaux and his wife Casandra of Fairmont, Stevie Thibodeaux and her fiancé Demion Vargas of Fairmont, and Casandra Cress of Fairmont, her step-sons, James Cress Jr. of Kingwood, Austin Cress and his Wife Sierra of Reedsville, and Jay Cress of Kingwood. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren, her aunts, Vicki Sublett of Fairmont, and Kathy Barron of Fairmont, along with her special caretaker, Kayleann Travis of Fairmont. Heidi was a 1994 graduate of La Porte High School in LePorte, Texas. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart reserved for her two cats, Bitty and Kitty. Most of all, she cherished quality time with her close friends and family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with Heidi’s wishes, cremation services will occur. There will be a private celebration of life held in her honor at a later date.
