Obituary of Geraldine Davis Trickett
Geraldine Davis Trickett, affectionately known as Mamaw, of Baxter, WV died peacefully at home on December 8, 2024. She was 92 years old. Born in Rivesville, WV in 1932, she grew up with 4 brothers and 4 sisters. She moved to NJ with her husband Bert and 2 daughters for work and raised her family. She worked for The West Company for 20 years in quality control and retired in WV in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, and watching her favorite shows on TV with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Bennett, her brother, Ira “Wimpy” Davis, her daughter, Cheryl Hitchner, 3 grandchildren, Eric Horner, Marcia DeFelice and husband Eric, and Ryan Hitchner Jr., 1 great granddaughter, Isabella DeFelice, and a special niece, Donna Summers.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Wellinton Davis and mother Dora Belle Davis, her husband Bert Trickett Jr., her daughter and son-in-law Pamela K. and Wayne R. Horner, a son who died at birth, and many brothers and sisters.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 11a.m. until 1p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1p.m. with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating.
