Marcia Yvonne Conley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, transitioned peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 4, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on the glorious Independence Day of 1953, Marcia was a 1971 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, West Virginia. She brought light, warmth, and unwavering devotion to everyone blessed to know her. There is purpose in her presence—a purpose that continues to ripple through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Roy David Landacre, and her nephew, Jacob David Landacre. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 52 years, John Randolph Conley, and her four cherished children: Jennifer Conley (Katie Conley, J.R. Coburn, Sam Coburn); Jason & Melissa Conley (Addison); Kathy & Andy Citerone (Luciana, Rocco, Adelina); and David Conley & Lacy Meyer. She is also survived by her loving mother, Mary Ruth Landacre, her three sisters and one brother—Rebecca & Sam Thorton, Paula & Tom Radulski, Linda Reed, Barbie Byrd, and Dave & Sue Landacre—along with countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who adored her.,
Marcia’s legacy of love and service is immense. Together with John and his brother, Rusty, she co-founded Mar-Don Inc. and Mar-Don Energy Services. For over 45 years. their shared commitment built not only a thriving company—one that made significant charitable contributions to communities in West Virginia and Virginia—but also a strong foundation for a family deeply rooted in love and resilience.
A lifelong member of the Gideons Auxiliary, Marcia was genuinely committed to spreading the message of faith and hope. Her evangelistic spirit shone brightly in her work as an official trainer with Evangelism Explosion International, where she touched many lives.
For more than a decade, Marcia joyfully volunteered as a third-grade teacher at Simpson Creek Baptist Church, imparting her love for learning and faith to countless young minds. She was also a lover of nature and animals, particularly horses, beginning her journey with equestrian volunteering in 1999. Over the years, she served with dedication at three horse barns, sharing her nurturing and healing presence with both animals and people.
Marcia’s heart of service extended to her family and community. She delighted in gardening, tending not just to plants but to the growth and well-being of everyone around her. A lifelong learner, she was an avid reader with a passion for medicine and holistic healing, always seeking to better understand and contribute to the world. Marcia’s dedication to supporting local education was unwavering, and her decades of service were honored with her induction into the Bridgeport High School Hall of Fame.
Above all, Marcia was devoted to her family. She poured her heart into the lives of her children and grandchildren, affectionately known as 'Marm' not only to her seven grandchildren but also to many who found comfort in the loving home she created and her gift for listening. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to call her family, friend, and guide.
Marcia’s memory reminds us of the beauty of a life lived in service, love, and faith. There is purpose in her presence, and her light will continue to illuminate the paths of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 E Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4p.m. until 8p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A memorial service will be held for Marcia in the Church on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11a.m. with Reverend Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating.
