Obituary of Earl Dever Floyd
Earl Dever Floyd, 76, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born in Grafton, WV on July 10, 1948, a son to the late Samuel Warren and Dolly Mae Saurborn Floyd. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Sharron Floyd.
He is survived by his step-sons, Greg Childs of Fairmont, and Joe Childs and his wife Mary of New Jersey, his step-daughter, Dee Pellegrin of Clarksburg, his sisters, Brenda Leighty of Grafton, and Karen Simons of Wheeling, his niece Brandy Floyd of Fairmont, his nephews, Jerald Floyd, Charlie Floyd and his wife Diana, Sam Floyd and his wife Kim, and Carl Floyd and his wife Becky, his grandchildren, Sarah, Jerry, Ryan, Billy, Andrew, Kelly, Ashley, Courtney, Stephanie, Aaron, and Amber, his great-nephews, Jesse and Jermey Floyd, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Earl was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Valerie Phillius, his brothers, Joe, Marshall, and Charlie Floyd, and his sisters, Ellen, Agnus, and Tootsie.
Earl proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Porter for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Earl enjoyed collecting model cars, watching westerns and W.W.E. Wrestling. Most of all, Earl loved spending time with his family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. A graveside service will be held in the West Virginia National Cemetery on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 9a.m. with full military in honor of Mr. Floyd’s military service.
