Obituary of Gloria Jean Robinson Stackpole
Gloria Jean Robinson Stackpole was born September 20, 1942 in Greene County, Pennsylvania to Henry Robinson and Thelma Hunker Robinson. She was the oldest of eight children. Lou Ellen Robinson, who died at birth, Thomas Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Robert Robinson, Sylvia Robinson (Spencer), Brenda Robinson (Bavely) and Roger Starcher. She is survived by her brother Robert Robinson and her sister Sylvia Robinson. She passed peacefully on November 8, 2024.
Her life was like a movie. If you knew her, you knew her story. Betrayal, attempted murder, escape and finally finding the love of her life. One fateful night she was out and met Donald Stackpole. From that night on, they were inseparable. She married Donald in a preacher’s living room. They both were previously married and divorced and at that time, it was hard to find a church that would marry them. They were happily married over thirty years before he predeceased her.
She had one son by a previous marriage whom she became estranged from in her final years. Jean was a wonderful woman who was funny, caring and very loving. She loved being around her family and watching the great nieces and nephews play. For many years she had both cats and dogs who made her world a happier place. Bingo and Yatzee were her favorite games and for years she loved to read historical romance and put together puzzles.
In accordance with her wishes, Gloria’s body will be cremated and there will be no public services. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
