Obituary of John Kelly Shackelford III

John Kelly Shackelford III, 70, of Fairmont passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home. John was born in Norton, VA on September 10, 1954, the son of the late John Kelly Shackelford Jr. and Mildred Naydean Elam Shackelford. John is survived by his loving wife, Terry Lee Asbury Shackelford; two daughters, Tessa Shackelford and her husband Josh Caputo of Philadelphia, PA and Ian Lee Williams and her husband Frank of Fayetteville, WV; three grandchildren, Erin Lee Abner, Kaiden James Williams, and Mildred Ann Caputo; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Rita Potochick and her husband Dave of Festus, MO and Nancy Zatorsky of Northern Cambria, PA. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bernie Zatorsky. John was a graduate of Northern Cambria High School and was a branch manager for Combined Life Insurance Company. John enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, working with computers, listening to his vinyl records, and his cats, Vladimir and Boris. The family requests memorial contributions be made in John’s memory to the Marion County Humane Society, PO Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26555.
