Obituary of Margie Lee (Jones) Prunty

Margie Lee (Jones) Prunty, 91, of Mill Fall Run passed away peacefully at Ruby Memorial Hospital MICU (Medical ICU) Sunday July 14, 2024. She was the daughter of late Lloyd and Dale Jones. She was proceeded in death by her husband John Prunty Jr. January 19, 2024. She was born on November 17, 1932 in Mill Fall and she and her husband built their home across the road from the Jones Family Farm in 1976. She was a 1950 graduate Farmington High School. She was a Baptist and attended Everson Baptist Church where they were married on November 26, 1960. Margie was a homemaker. She was a good wife, Mom and Grandma. she was very dedicated to her husband and her family. She was proud of her five children, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She loved them with all of her heart. Family gave her strength and she strived to instill that in all of us. She and her husband farmed, gardened, and canned to raise their family. She was an original member of the Lazy Daisy Club. She donated her time to help others. She was an inspirational and loving woman that never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone into her home. she was always cooking and inviting her children’s friends and family into their home. She made meatballs and chicken for all of her children’s weddings. She was proud that they would make 10 gallons of her specialty vegetable soup for all of the family to pick up. She loved having Sunday dinners for all of the family to gather. She loved being in a group with family and friends to enjoy fellowship with one another. She always looked forward to the Jones Famiy Reunion that is held every August. Margie loved music and she loved to dance. She was quite the jitterbug dancer in her younger years. She listened to music every day and you would still see her moving trying to dance. She loved going to their camp at Big Bear Lake for years. Margie is survived by three sons: John Prunty III (Geneva), Michael Prunty (Diane), and David Prunty. Two daughters: Deborah Poluck(Louis) and Tamra Ice( Todd). Ten grandchildren: Eric Poluck, Todd Poluck(Kirstin), Kelsey Prunty, Zachary Prunty, Derek Prunty, Izak Prunty, Travis Wolfe(Tina), Jennifer Smith(Michael), Christopher Wilson, and Sam Wilson. Six great grandchildren: Braydon Prunty, Josie Poluck, Greyson Wolfe, Bridget, Margaret, and Bernadette Smith. She is also survived by one sister Alberta “Jean” Blair. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends that she considered family. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margie is proceeded in death by three sisters: Maxine “Mac” Seliga (Joe), Annabelle “Betty” Copen (George), and Geraldine “Jerry” Benson (Harry ”Noonie”), two brothers: Billy Jones(Juanita) and Edwin Jones (Mary). Her five children took care of her at home until her time going to the hospital. The Family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Ruby Memorial MICU for their compassionate care. They also want to thank the nurses at Fresenius for their patient care and the Marion County Transit for transporting her to dialysis. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends may be received on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 2p.m. until 8p.m. and on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11a.m. with Reverand Robert Tennant officiating.
