Obituary of Vince Rodriguez

Vince Rodriguez, 77, of Grant Town, passed away Monday evening at Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Grant Town, WV on June 30, 1939, the son of the late Marion Rodriguez Sr. and Rose Kucish Rodriguez Chromchik. Vince was a member of the 1957 Fairview High School Class and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked in Chicago on the railroad after his Marine duty where he met his wife Arleen and they made the decision to move back to his beloved WV and buy a farm to raise their sons. He then became a welder in the Grant Town Mines and when it shut down, worked at US Machine as a welder for many years. He enjoyed watching college football games, especially Arizona in the last few years, spending time riding his four wheeler through the woods, fishing in his pond, hunting and sitting by the pond talking with his brothers, family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren’s achievements and the adults they have become. Vince is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Arleen Wallace Rodriguez; his three sons, Steve Rodriguez and wife Susan, Rich Rodriguez and his wife Rita and Kenny Rodriguez and his wife Tami; his special grandchildren, Tyler Rodriguez and his wife Ambroshia, Cassady Rodriguez, Rhett Rodriguez and Raquel Rodriguez; his brothers, Rich Lee Rodriguez and his fiancé Mary Jo Thomas and Marion Rodriguez Jr. and his wife Virginia; many many special nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Kucish Clan throughout the country; special friends, Joe and Donna Weir and old high school buddies. He will also be missed by his fur buddies, his Boston Terriers, Kerby and Punkin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pet Helpers Rescue or Ballah Chapel Methodist Church in Grant Town. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 1 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Skip Vincent officiating.
