Obituary of Juanita Ruth Morris

Juanita Ruth Morris, 99, of Rivesville, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 in her residence. She was born August 25, 1917 in Hoodsville, WV a daughter of the late Alpha and Anna E. Morris Tennant. She was also preceded in death by her husband Eugene Morris. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Highlawns United Methodist Church in Rivesville. She was a graduate of Fairview High School. Juanita a homemaker and a caretaker all of her life. She was a true caretaker having raised all four of her children at home while taking care of her mother. After her husband passed away, she went to work continueing her caregiving at a hospital, then a nursing home, and finally caring for the elderly in their homes. After she retired, she watched over neighbors, often taking them to medical appointments and running errands. Seldom did you see her in her car alone, but driving someone to their destination. Her children fulfilled her wishes of wanting to remain in her home by taking turns staying with her. Survivors include her sons: Jack R. Morris of The Villages, FL and James A. and his wife Linda Morris of Fairmont; daughters: Judy K and her husband Ron Bailes of Bonifay, FL and Jeanie A. and her husband Charles McDaniel of Fairmont; grandchildren: John Morris, Donald Morris, James “Allen” Morris, Tonia Morris Flohr, Kevin Morris, Fred Baker Jr., Deanna Powell, Brandon Sheets, and Ryan Sheets; 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, Bud Tennant, and her sisters Margorie Walker and Dorothy Johnson. The family wishes to thank Marianne Husty, Jeanie Lough, and Amedysis Hospice for their love, care, and support. Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 2nd Street, Rivesville, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4PM until 8PM, and on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11AM with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
