Obituary of Virginia Mae Roberson Ash

Virginia Mae Roberson Ash, 85, of Riverwood Circle, Kingmont Community, passed away early Saturday morning in her residence. She was born September 3, 1931 in Spruce, WV (Pocahontas County), daughter of the late Jedson Stanley and Vivian Lucille Mullenax Roberson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Ash, Jr. who died in 1994 and her son, Robert “Mark” Ash who died in 2012. Mrs. Ash was a member of Worthington Christian Church, belonging to the CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship), She was retired from Ash’s Sunoco, with 38 years of service in management, She earlier was a proprietor in various businesses, She was a former member of the Red Hats Society, and she very much enjoyed the Sage Brush Roundup and musical shows at the Boothsville Community Building. She was earlier active with the Gasoline Dealers Association. Survivors include a son, William “Billy” Ash of Kingmont Community, 2 daughters; Joan and her husband Bill Wright of Lost Creek, WV and Bonnie Benson and her companion Marty Impagliazzo of Phoenixville, PA, a daughter-in-law, Terry Ash of Fairmont, WV, 7 grandchildren; Carrie Ann and Chris Forcucci of Lost Creek, WV, Aaron and Shelly Wright of Clarksburg, WV, Jeremy and Erica Wright of Lost Creek, WV, Bradley and Sara Benson of Sanatoga, PA, Jason and Michelle Benson of Upper Darby, PA, Kelsey Ash of Fairmont, WV, and Robert Bradfield of Trooper, PA, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, a sister-in-law, Jackie Roberson of St. Petersburg, FL, and a brother-in-law, Tony DeMotto of Coalton, WV. She was preceded in death by brother, Stanley Roberson and two sisters, Lottie Hancock and Jessie DeMotto. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV from 2pm until 8pm on Tuesday and 10am until 10:30am on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10:30am, with Rev. Lynn White officiating.
