Obituary of Jared Adam Toothman

Jared Adam Toothman, 40, of Monongah, WV passed away on January 12, 2024. He was born on November 3, 1983, the son of Eric and Lori Toothman. Jared attended North Marion High School where he participated in both varsity football and earned the honor of “letterman” in wrestling. He was a bright and gifted student, and enjoyed reading, gaming, and challenging the status quo. He went on to attend Fairmont State College as well as several vocational training programs. Jared greatly enjoyed cooking and baking, and worked at various local restaurants over the years. Many will remember his specialty versions of Chicken Cordon Bleu and peanut butter and jelly cake. He is survived by his companion and mother of his children, Ashley Gill, his daughters, Adicyn “Ady” Rain and Aubri Jean, his parents, Eric and Lori Toothman of Madison, OH, formerly of Monongah, WV, and his sister, Ciara Jade Toothman of New York City, formerly of Monongah, WV, his grandmother Frances Arretta Toothman of Parrish Run, his aunts and uncles, Pam (Tom) Bowman of Parrish Run, Ricky (Julie) Munza of Idamay, Danny “Dusty” (Sandy) Toothman of Parrish Run, BJ (Chele) Toothman of Glen Alpine, NC, and Tracey (Lance) Beckley of Fairmont. Jared is also survived by several cousins and special friends who will miss him deeply. Jared is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Ava Jean Munza of Montana Mines, his paternal grandfather, Danny Lee Toothman of Parrish Run, and his uncle Kevin Douglas “Dougie” Toothman of Parrish Run. Jared was known for his unique sense of humor, exceptional intelligence, and his love of music of all types. He enjoyed playing basketball, watching many types of sports, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. He was especially proud of coaching soccer and teaching his two daughters. Jared’s friends knew they could count on his loyalty, as he was always willing to lend a listening ear and extend a hand to anyone in need. He also loved animals and had many furry friends that brought him comfort during turbulent times. Jared accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of five and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Fairmont in his youth. His time with us was complicated but not without compassion. Behind a tough exterior there was a sensitive soul trying to find his purpose. While Jared struggled to find his way in this life, we look forward to reuniting with him in the next. Friends may be received on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2p.m. until 8p.m. and on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11a.m. with Pastor Leonard Ludwick officiating.
