Obituary of Mary Julia Nagy Chase

Mary Julia Nagy Chase, 96, passed away on February 28, 2016, at her home in Arnettsville, WV. She was born in Santoy, OH on June 13, 1919, daughter of the late Alex and Mary Nagy of Greentown, near Rivesville, WV. Mrs. Chase is survived by two sons, Rudy and Dennis Chase of Arnettsville, WV; one daughter, Carolyn and her husband Herbert Throckmorton of Pentress, WV; seven grandchildren, Lori Sypolt and her husband Richard, Kristen Hess and her husband Roy, Christopher Throckmorton and his wife Melissa, Dennis Charles “Chuckie” Chase, John Chase, Rosemary Chase and Hayden Chase; 12 great grandchildren, Amanda, Allison and Ashley Sypolt, Logan, Kylie, Gavin and Ava Hess, Bryanna and Lillian Throckmorton, Landon and McKenzie Chase, and Braxton Chase; one sister, Elizabeth Phillips of Bellview, WV; one brother, Alex Nagy and his wife Lena of Fairmont, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Chase, in 1995 and several siblings, Paul Nagy, Rose Egress, Margaret Konkoly and Irene Clyton. The family would like to thank all the caregivers who assisted with Mary’s care. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. A vigil service will take place in the funeral home on Monday, February 1, 2016, at 8:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at noon with Father Walter M. Jagela officiating. A committal service will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV.
