Obituary of Amanda "Mandy" Moreman Steele

Amanda “Mandy” Moreman Steele, 75, of Fairmont passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at her home. She was born in Fairmont on March 13, 1948, a daughter of the late Louis Joseph Moreman and Elizabeth Joy Conner Moreman. Mandy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Richard William Steele; daughter, Christine Amanda Greene Ford of Gloucester, VA; a step-son, Richard Darren Steele; step-daughter, Shelly Steele; grandson, Bradley Ford and his wife Tara of Gloucester, VA; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Hayley and Jace Ford; as well as many cousins. In addition to her parents, Mandy was preceded in death by her son, Michael John Greene; a step-son, Brad Moyers; and two sisters, Maria Carouso and Kathleen Goll. Mandy was a 1966 graduate of East Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and worked in the kitchen for funeral dinners. Mandy was active with the Marion County Project Graduation from 1988 until 1998 and was a member of the Women’s Club of Fairmont and the Wednesday Wild Bunch Painting Group. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 329 Maryland Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554.
