Obituary of Margaret Ellen Johnson

Margaret Ellen Johnson, 87, of Pelion, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023 in her residence. She was born on October 13, 1936 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Glenn and Margaret J. Tano Johnson. Margaret worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at the Fairmont Clinic. She was a proud graduate of East Fairmont High School and Fairmont Business College, where she obtained an associate degree. Margaret is survived by Richard and Tammy James, Robert James, Randy and Debbie James, Karl Johnson, Steve and Catherine Haney, Lucile Martin, Eugene Canfield, Anthony Hiroskey, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother and sister, William and Glenda Johnson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), ASPCA Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20090-6929. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 3 pm until 7 pm and on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10 am until 11 am. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 am with Evangelist Brent Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
