Obituary of Paul Junior "Pat" Moran

Paul Junior “Pat” Moran, 93, of Colfax Community, Fairmont, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Paul was born on November 26, 1930, in Montana Mines, WV, a son to the late Paul O. and Willa Blanche (Purkey) Moran. Paul was a former employee of Owens-Illinois for 31 and a half years. Paul also started Moran’s Auto Service in 1972 along side his son Randy, where he previously worked until 1989, when his son, Danny, joined Randy and is currently still in operation. Paul loved to spend time reading his Bible and was a prayer warrior. He was a faithful witness for the Lord. Paul was in the U.S. Army Airborne where he was a paratrooper and truck driver during the Korean War and was later in the Reserves. Paul was married to the late Avolene Clark Moran on March 14, 1954. He was a faithful husband and faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He served as Church bus driver and Deacon for many years. Paul is survived by his daughters: Diane Ardt of Lancaster, PA, and Debbie Lemley and her husband Chuck of Morgantown, WV, his sons: Randy Moran and wife Dawn of Barrackville, Daniel Moran and wife Glanna of Fairmont, and Matthew Moran and wife Sandra of Liberty, SC, his brothers: Roy Moran, Lee Moran, John Moran and wife Susan, his sisters: Esther Reinhardt, Ellen Lucille Stevens and her husband Robert, Ethel Elsey and her husband Kenneth, and Etta Gay Urgo. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Laura Moran as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Paul is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ann Yow and Eleanor Sue Kinsey, and one brother, Pastor Bennie Moran. The Family would like to thank the VA Hospital in Clarksburg, Amedysis Hospice and the Genesis Tygart Rehab Center in Fairmont along with his other caregivers. A special thanks to Thelma Thacker for her help in taking care of Paul. Memorial Contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the Fellowship Baptist Church, 28 Fellowship Drive, Fairmont WV 26554. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends may be received at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairmont, WV, Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Church on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert Shaw officiating.
