Obituary of Earl William Ladd

Earl William Ladd, 95, of Bridgeport, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1928 in Elmira, NY a son of the late Glenn B. Ladd and Gladys L. Ladd. He is survived by his wife Norma Jane Powell Ladd of Bridgeport, WV. They were married on July 4, 1954. He is survived by a daughter and son in law Cynthia & John Sienkiewkz of San Mateo, CA, two sons and two daughter in laws Theodore & Laurie Ladd of Wadsworth, Ohio and Gregory & Deborah Ladd of Frisco, Texas, six grandchildren David L. Sienkiewicz, Amanda J. Mashayekh & her husband Dan, Stacey E. Smith & her husband Jeremy, Stefan Ladd, Brandon Ladd and Jared Ladd, and two great grandchildren Palmer Smith and Luca Mashayekh. He was preceded in death by his brother Bernard T. Ladd, who died in service during World War II. Mr. Ladd was an employee from 1951-1989 of the Consolidated Natural Gas Company with 38 years of service. After retirement from the gas company, he also worked as a contractor for Valtronics in Murraysville, WV for 18 years. He was a graduate of Westfield PA High School in Westfield, PA and attended Penn State University following military service in the United States Army Air Corp from 1946-1949. He earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Ladd was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church where he assisted his wife with altar preparations. He was a member of the American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Bridgeport United Methodist Church Permanent Fund, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The family will receive friends at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330 on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10 am - 12:00 Noon. The funeral service will be held in the church on Thursday at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Dr. Matthew Paugh and Reverend Jim Lang officiating.
