Obituary of Dolores Jones

Dolores Jones went to her heavenly home on November 22, 2023 after a long life of 97 years. She was born in Rosemont, West Virginia, on April 2, 1926. She was the loving daughter of Earl and Hazel (Moyer) Robinson who preceded her in death. She graduated from Flemington High School in 1944. After graduation, she worked at Reppert Coal Company. She married Clarence Jones, Jr. her fun-loving husband on May 29, 1947. He preceded her in death after 59 years of marriage. They moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived there for 27 years. She always had a special fondness for her friends and many good memories of her time in Pittsburgh. She was a loving mother to Donna Carnegie (Shinnston, WV) and Debbie Morgan (Auburn, In). She was known as "Mam" to her grandchildren which include: Kate (Eric) Cook (Pineville, Mo); Kelly (Daniel) Minney (Columbus, Ohio), Joe (Jessie) Morgan (Omaha, Neb); Kerry (Brian) Skeens (Ceredo, WV) and Megan Morgan (Auburn, In). She had 2 great - grandchildren: Sara and Andrew Minney (Columbus, Ohio) and 4 step great-grandchildren: Dakota, Aubrey, Maddie Cook (Tn) and Zella DeFord (Neb). Her brother, Dan Robinson, preceded her in death. Her nephew, Todd (Karen) Robinson (Springboro, Ohio) survives. She had several nieces and nephews who survive. She was a Christian since the age of 12. She loved Jesus! She served the Lord faithfully while she was able, in various roles in her church. Dolores was a long-time member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church and "loved her church." She was grateful to the Lord for His faithfulness over the years. She loved her family. She loved people. She had a gift of hospitality and was an encourager to many. Her family is celebrating with her as her faith has become sight and she is with "her" Jesus. Memorials can be given to Simpson Creek Baptist Church, 231 W Philadelphia Ave, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 215 E Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 10 am until 12 noon. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 12 noon with Reverend Dr. Sean Wegener and Reverend Dr. C. Michael Hopkins officiating.
