Obituary of Shirley Azbell

Shirley Azbell, 75, of Bridgeport, WV passed away on October 17, 2023 at the Bridgeport Healthcare Center. She was born May 22, 1948 in Newark, Ohio, a daughter to the late Harold and Lillian Carlisle Azbell. She is survived by numerous cousins and their families, especially Gwen and Bob Taylor. Shirley was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and Fairmont State University. Until her retirement in October 2013, she was employed by United Hospital Center in the Case Management Department. After retirement, Shirley volunteered at Shepherd’s Corner and the Bridgeport Public Library. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Clarksburg, WV where she served as Elder, Trustee, and Secretary of the Board. Shirly also became a member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church. Per her request, Shirley will be cremated and there will be no public viewing or services. A private graveside service will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date.
