Obituary of John Darius Jasper

Mr. John Darius Jasper departed his life and moved on to his Heavenly Home on September 18, 2023, in Martinsburg, WV. John was born October 14, 1986, in Montgomery, WV to Rev Jeremiah Andre Jasper and Cathy Virginia Jasper. He was preceded in death by his uncles, David Jasper, Ronald Jasper, Fred Jasper, Troy Jasper, Kenny Copney, great-uncle, Bernard Johnson, cousin, AJ Lamontagne, and grandmother Evang. Margaret M. Copney. John was a 2005 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, where he lettered in football, was a state qualifier in wrestling, and track. He was a member of the French Club. He attended Fairmont State University and was a delegate to the United Methodist Annual Conference. He worked for Navy Federal Credit Union. His fun-loving personality was known to many coworkers, who soon became friends and family. John was an avid sports fan. He could be found watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Phoenix Suns and Chicago White Sox. He loved God, working in the church, and spending time with his kids and family. John was an incredible person with a great sense of humor. He had the gift of helping others. A good friend and a great father. You could talk to him about any troubles you had, and he kept it real whether you wanted to hear it or not. John, in addition to his parents, leaves to cherish precious memories his two sisters, Gabrielle Bramble (David) of Morgantown, WV, and Valarie Jasper (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, daughter Ava Marie, and her mother Kat, son Jullian and his mother Krystal (partner) and her children Mariana and Aaliyah and God-mother Stephanie Wiggins. Special cousins Isaiah Lamontagne, Alexis Lamontagne, Darius Copney, Dione Copney, Othello Copney, Rebecca Copney, Donovan Agee, Pepper Reasnover Jr (Emily), Phillip Norman, Johnnette Jasper and a host of additional cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and other relatives. The family will receive friends at Central United Methodist Church, 301 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the church at 12:30 p.m. with Bishop Herman Bryant officiating.
