Obituary of Mary Lou Tanner Crandall Bacorn

Mary Lou Tanner Crandall Bacorn, 76, of Fairmont passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on May 18, 1947, the daughter of the late Donald Tanner and Sylvia Channel Tanner Lodge. Mary is survived by her loving husband, David Glen Bacorn; children, Michele Denise Crandall and her companion, William Whaley II and Michael Dennis Crandall and his wife Cynthia Thrash Crandall; three grandchildren, Vanessa Crandall Yerkovich and her husband Eric, Ashley Crandall, and Andrew Crandall; great-granddaughter, Kaydence Crandall; and her beloved pets, Shasta and Star. Mary was a 1967 graduate of East Fairmont High School and worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for Valley Healthcare, the Marion County Senior Citizens, and REM. She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, arts and crafts, camping, photography, all kinds of music, and going to fairs and festivals. Mary loved the outdoors, spending time with her family, and watching her grandchildren play sports. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Mary’s memory to the Marion County Humane Society, PO Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26555. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating.
