Obituary of Michael Raymond Takash

Michael Raymond Takash, 76, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was born on January 8, 1947 in Fairmont, a son of the late James and Agnes Takash Jr. Michael was a member of the Bible Methodist Church in Fairmont and a 1965 graduate from Fairview High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, where he fought in the Vietnam War. Michael retired from the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center as a telephone operator. He enjoyed playing accordion for family, friends, and local establishments. Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Drake. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, Crystal Alkire of Fairmont, Lisa Bonfili of Morgantown, Lonnie Smith of Fairmont, and Lawrence Drake of Florida. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at phwwo.com. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2 pm until 6 pm. A private graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery at a later date.
