My condolences to the family of Elizabeth Merrells Meyer. Elizabeth and I graduated together from Bridgeport High School in 1958–our birthdays were two days apart. Merrill’s Engraving was the family business, and they made our graduation announcements, and my wedding invitations in 1961. In her later years of semi-retirement, she helped in the business.
Dick and Elizabeth attended our high school reunions and always enjoyed the combined reunions of the classes of 1956, 1957 and 1958. They were always the life of the party, especially when we met at The Maple Lake Clubhouse. Elizabeth’s smile, energy and enthusiasm lit up any room she entered.
The family home on Grand Avenue was lovingly restored when Elizabeth moved back into it. She insisted that only materials made in the U.S.A. be used in the construction and renovation, with as many coming from West Virginia as possible.
Your work is done—rest in peace dear Elizabeth.
