Mrs. Carlot, Cheri, Melissa (Missy), and Kirstie,
I send this message with a heavy heart for the passing of Dave (Mr. Carlot as I referred to him in my youth). I'm sorry for this late message and I hope you are still accepting condolences. Growing up in Fairmont with all the great life-long friends of my parents was truly a blessing. The friendship shared between my dad and Dave went back to a much simpler time in a great place that time seems to have forgotten in Monongah, WV. As I'm raising my children, I wish they had that connection to my roots.
Dave was nothing but a gentleman and always ready to greet me with a huge smile, a big hug and an occasional joke every time I saw him. He will be missed by so many including my parents. I talked to my dad on several occasions since Dave's passing and his eyes well up with tears every time we talk about it.
It's not much but I will honor his request for a donation to WVU Hospital Children's.
