Obituary of Sharlene Kelly

Sharlene Cross Kelly, 61, of Clarksburg, WV Went to be with the good Lord, she fought a battle with cancer and lupus for several years, she passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Crest View Manor in Jane Lew, WV. She was born December 9, 1961 in Quantico, VA a daughter of Gloria Cross and the late James Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Kelly. Sharlene was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School in Clarksburg. She worked for over twenty years with the F.O.P. in Nutter Fort where she served as manager of the restaurant. She had previously worked with Walmart in Clarksburg. Sharlene loved gardening. For many years, she grew a very large garden that supplied her canning hobby. She loved to provide canned goods to her close friends and relatives. Sharlene was an excellent cook and in addition to her canning, she was known to provide excellent meals for her loved ones. In addition to her mother, Sharlene is survived by her children, Chris (Brandi) Conley of Fairmont, and Tamara (Matthew) Ollom of Charleston, WV, her grandchildren: Wes and Max Conley, Harrison and Ledger Kirk, and Maverick Hyde. She is also survived by her step-father John Cumberlidge, her brothers, Ringo and David Cross, and her close friends, Kathy Haggin, Tisha Gregory, Alfred “Al” Rogers, and Tracy Karle. The family would like to thank her neighbor, Tony Lockett, for helping Sharlene while she was in her apartment. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Bruce Cross, and her grandmother, Audra Hood. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will be held. All services will be private to the family.
