Obituary of Patricia Romino Vasicek

Patti Romino Vasicek ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she loved with all her heart, her soul, and her strength (Deuteronomy 6:5) on July 7, 2023. Patti was born in Fairmont on May 20, 1943. She was the youngest daughter of the late Dr. Leonard A. Romino and the late Jeanette Pacifico Romino. From a young age her family attended church, and she loved learning about Jesus. At a crusade in Pittsburgh, she became born again (John 3:3). Later, following the second bout with lung cancer, God miraculously healed her, and she committed her life to loving and serving Him and others all of her days. Patti is survived by her beloved husband, Richard J. Vasicek whom she married on June 13, 1964. She is also survived by a daughter, Renae Lynn Fox and her husband Joe of Pittsburgh and a son, Richard E. Vasicek and his wife Dee Dee of Whitehall. Her surviving grandchildren are Hannah Mariah Lucas and husband, Tyler of Fairmont; Easton Andrew Jimmie of Morgantown; Hope Jordan Vasicek of Fairmont; Noah Richard Vasicek of Fairmont; and Gabriel Andrew Jimmie of Fairmont. Adding to the overwhelming joy of grandchildren are the surviving great-grandchildren: Esther Grace Lucas, Ruth Arianna Lucas, Ava Marie Jimmie, Zayden Andrew Jimmie, and Zander Jace Jimmie. Also surviving is her Aunt Mary Romino of Fairmont; sisters, Josephine Hamrick and Caroline Janicki of Charleston; sister-in-laws, Jeanie and her husband Harry Stewart of Rivesville and Judy Romino Bailey and her husband Steve of Florida. Treasured by her and close to her heart were her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patti loved her Trinity church family and serving Jesus with them by the power of the Holy Spirit. In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Edward Vasicek; mother-in-law Evelyn Vasicek; three brothers, Michael Romino, Leonard Romino II, and Robert Romino; sister-in-law, Joyce A. Romino and her former son in law Criss A. Jimmie. Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity Assembly of God on Tuesday, July 11th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made to the Union Rescue Mission and/or the Pregnancy Resource Center. Friends may attend the visitation at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A private family burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Whitehall.
