Blair was my teacher at Kingwood High School in the 70s. Actually my favorite teacher. He was such a remarkable man. I've only seen him once since then and he remembered me. Truly a wonderful person and teacher. When I picture him it is always with a big beautiful smile on his face.
Blair was an inspiration to everyone who he met. Whether he was on campus or in the community, he met no stranger.
He was my first president in higher education, and I am thankful every day for our conversations and for the inspiration he gave me to continue at my various colleges.
My condolences to the family and I hope that his celebration is streamed online so I can watch such a remarkable individual be remembered and honored.
