Obituary of Debra Lynn Myers
Debra Lynn (Amuso) Myers, 68, of Fairmont, WV, formerly of Weirton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 8, after a three-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born December 20, 1954, in Wheeling, WV to the late Frank and Isabelle (Tornifolio) Amuso. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Richard “Dick” Alan Myers.
She graduated from Brooke High School in 1973 and from West Liberty State College in 1977, graduating with highest honors, with a BA in Elementary education.
She taught Elementary School in Hancock County for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she enjoyed teaching Adult Sunday School, singing in the choir, and singing with her family.
In addition to her husband, Debra is survived by her two sons, Christopher Myers and his wife Shelley of Fairmont, and Sean Myers and his wife Jessica of Findlay, OH. She is also survived by her sister Francine Spatafore and her husband Floyd of Fairmont, seven grandchildren, Denver, Suraya, Abigail, Zoe, Haylee, Chloe, and Adalynne, as well as a brother-in-law, Clarence Lawler.
Her greatest joy was being a mother to her sons and a grandmother to her seven grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her love for the Lord, the love she had for her family and her beautiful smile when she greeted you.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Darlene (Clarence) Lawler, of Pickerington, OH.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 3 pm until 5pm at the Fairmont First Church of the Nazarene, at 1604 Morgantown Avenue in Fairmont, WV 26554. The funeral service will be held in the church at 5 pm with Reverend Andy Newman officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will occur.
