Obituary of Wayne Satterfield
Josephus Wayne Satterfield, 88, of Fairmont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 23, 1934 in Katy, WV to the late Kermit Wayne and Anna Lucille Jones Satterfield.
Wayne retired from Alcan Aluminum, after 33 years of service as a slitter operator. He was also previously employed by Garvens Dairy. He was a Protestant by faith and a longtime member of the Christian Missionary Alliance where he held the offices of Elder, Sunday School teacher, and church secretary.
Wayne is survived by his five daughters: Lois Jean and her husband Junior Poole, Donna and her husband Sparky Brumage, Susan and her husband David Brumage, Marty and her husband Randy Morris, with whom he resided, and Kelly and her husband Kenny Coburn; his thirteen grandchildren: Josh Poole; Jeremy and Ben Brumage; Amber Reed; Sara and Mike Brumage; Niki and Madison Morris; Randi Lynn Martin; Heather, Jon, Emily, and Jacob Coburn, as well as eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Alice Satterfield; his nephews, William “Bill” and his wife Elaine Satterfield, and Fred Satterfield; his niece Alison Tighe; his great-nephew William; and his brother-in-law David and his wife Ruthie Radcliff.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Barbara, his son Jonathan, his grandson Joey, his brother Bill, his in-laws, Charles and Martha Radcliff, and his brother-in-law, Danny.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Friends and family may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6PM until 8PM and on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fairmont.
