Obituary of Betty L. Taylor

Betty L. Taylor, 79, of Rivesville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, March 27, 2023. She was born November 8, 1943 a daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Ethel V. Smith Towns in Sugar Lane, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Taylor in 2008. Mrs. Taylor was a Pentacostal by faith. She was a homemaker in her own home and enjoyed watching and feeding the geese, as well as fishing. She loved living close to and spending time with her family. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her three sons: Robert “Russell” Taylor and his girlfriend Sherl Roperto of Fairmont, Raymond Taylor and his girlfriend Paula Lawrence of Rivesville, and Randy Taylor and his wife JoAnn Taylor of Rivesville, her three brothers, Duke and his wife Ruth Towns of Daybrook, Johnnie and Brenda Towns of Cassville, and Fay and his wife Rose Towns of Rivesville. She is also survived by her 4 granddaughters, Tiffany Williams, Cassandra Towns, Tela Knisley, and Tara Taylor, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Corey Taylor, and many brothers and sisters: Clifford "Curly" Towns, Bill Towns, Francis "Buck" Towns, Margaret Stottlemire, Helen Beckman Perkins, Lela Kisner, and Drexil "Peanut" Towns. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. Friends and family may visit on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM and on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11AM with Reverend Randy Taylor officiating. Interment services will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery.
