Obituary of Elett Delno Lewis

Elett Delno Lewis, 86, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023, at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1936, in Rivesville, a son of the late William M. Lewis and Laura A. Brady Lewis Falls. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen S. Harvey Hamilton Lewis and preceded in death by a wife, Lorraine J. Durrett Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a graduate of Rivesville High School and a Methodist by faith. He was a retired supervisor from the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Fairmont and Morgantown, where he served for 32 years. Throughout his lifetime, he was also the former owner of several businesses. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Billy E. Prince (Mary Ann), Rex L. Lewis (Kathy), Jimmy D. Lewis (Patricia), and Donnie R. Lewis; one stepson, Joe Hamilton; three daughters, Loucille Kellogg (Fred), Mary J. Rogers, and Laura D. Lewis; three step daughters, Becky Lower (Larry), Jody Dolly (Bill), and Beverly Martin (George); one brother, Bruce Lewis; one sister, Betty McIntire; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. Mr. Lewis was a member of many organizations, including the following: 50-year member of the BPOE #294 Fairmont Elks, Moose Lodge No. 9 Fairmont, F.O.P, WV Sheriff’s Association, WV State Police Association, and The National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents and a wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Darris Lewis, Edward Lewis, and Michael Lewis; as well as one grandson, Jason Prince. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corner United Methodist Church Attention Building Fund, 117 Corners Road, Cabins, WV, 26855. The Lewis family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 2-8 p.m. and on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jim Zinn presiding.
