Misty and Amy, I’m so sorry Stan and I could not be there to pay our respects. We have fond memories of time spent together with your parents as East Fairmont faculty, and also socially. Though your time was cut short with both your parents, you could not have had more loving and devoted ones. May that knowledge give some measure of comfort and peace to you and your families.
With love and sympathy,
Linda Swihart

Very Sorry to hear of Coach Malone’s passing. I coached girls basketball against him for quite a few years. We struck up a good friendship, he was one of the “good” guys in coaching. I will miss running into him at state tournament and catching up or reminiscing. Prayers to his family & friends. He was just an awesome guy to know.

Dear Linda, Misty, Amy, Phil & families,
Just a note to express my shock and saddness upon reading of Bill's death. He was a long-time friend as our coaching paths crossed many times as I coached at Buckhannon-Upshur and he at East. As a very successful coach he was always a swell guy and the consumate professional who was well-liked and respected by all who made his acquaintance. I hadn't seen him recently due to retirement but I remember well our pleasant and enjoyable conversations over the many years. A sad day indeed, but please accept my sincere condolences. Thoughts & prayers. Jim Marsh

My sincerest condolences to the Malone Family.
1977 my first day at EFHS after transferring from Barrackville High. I walk into Mr Malone’s English class. I take a seat by Mark Tucker. Mr Malone asks me, are you sure you want to sit there? Mark and I look at each other and I said yes I do. A friendship started by you coach. Thank you, Mr Malone. Rest In Peace brother.

We used to be a big Malone Family as shown in this reunion picture from 1983. When our Grandfather and parents passed, we lost touch with each other. Billy was a cousin to Fred Malone, Jerry, Sally and Penny Malone, Dick and Deb Murphy and Marissa and Kista Fleming. We have wonderful memories of times shared at Grandpa’s house and want his family and friends to know how deeply sorry we are for their loss. Our love and prayers are with you.

Misty and Amy, Please accept my deepest condolences! Bill was so fun loving and became best friends with he and Ginger living next door to them on Cochran Street. If Bill smelled cake baking , he came over. He would smash it in a glass and pour milk over the cake. So Sorry, Linda L. Gandy

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Bill Malone. I knew Bill for about the last 10 years as he coached East Fairmont's golf team. Bill was a great man to talk to while on the course and I will miss that. For several years Bill helped out in the summer at many of our Callaway Junior Tour events as a volunteer rules official, he didnt have to do this but he enjoyed it very much and I really appreciate his efforts in that and as a voice in the High School golf world.

So very sorry to learn of Bill's passing. I have early childhood memories when Bill would visit his grandparents here in East Fairmont. As an adult I knew his family as neighbors in Hibbs addition. Bill was a gifted teacher/coach. He was also a "smooth" dancer. He will be missed by many. Praying for his daughters and grandchildren & all missing this fine man of many talents.

Im so sorry for the loss of Bill. He was always a great friend to me and my family. I hope he rests peacefully. He raised two great daughters and i know he was so proud of his grandsons. I had the privilege of coaching with him and working with him as my AD.
But more importantly, he was my friend and I could always count on him for advice and I will always remember him and his sense of humor that was so much like mine. It took me a long time but I did beat him once at golf. I hope the Malone family will always know I am there for them and know how much I cared for Bill.
With heartfelt regards and prayers, Mark Hoffman
