Obituary of Terry Lynne Nigh

Terry Lynne Nigh, 79, of Boothsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born February 28, 1944 in Fairview, WV a daughter of the late James Earl “Poke” and Nola V. Wilson Parrish. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, James Daniel Nigh. Terry was a 1962 graduate of Fairview High School. She was a member of the Covenant Church of Fairmont. Terry was a homemaker in her own home, in which she was a dedicated wife and mother. Prior to her marriage, she had worked at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and also worked with the medical records department of the Fairmont Clinic. Terry was a strong and devoted Christian. She had enjoyed bowling in the Fairmont area league bowling, and more recently enjoyed traveling to and staying at several West Virginian campgrounds with her husband. Terry enjoyed riding her recumbent bike on the West Fork River Rail Trail, her favorite portion being from Everson to Worthington. In addition to her husband, Terry is survived by her son Steve and his wife Erin Nigh, of Morgantown, and her sister-in-law Becky Parrish of Fairview. Terry was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ronald and his wife JoAnn Parrish, and Michael Parrish. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 2PM until 8PM, and on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12 noon until 1PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1PM with Pastor Roy Weese officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
