Obituary of Patricia Ileene Tucker Drummond

Patricia Ileene Tucker Drummond, 84, of Fairmont passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at her home. She was born in Fairmont on October 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Charles D. Tucker and Beatrice Ileene Thorne Tucker. Patty was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Lee Drummond. Patty is survived by her three daughters, Tamma Melton and her husband Charles of Elkins, Robin Mazzie and her husband Mark of Fairmont, and Kelly Matheny and her husband John of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Charlie Lowdermilk and his wife Whitney, Kevin Lowdermilk and his wife Jamie, Beth McDonough and her wife Jen, and Dalton Matheny; two great-grandchildren, Liv Lowdermilk and Myla Lowdermilk; brothers, Larry Tucker and his wife Sharon of Bridgeport and Dallas Tucker and his wife Tina of Doddridge County; and sister, Diana Walker and her husband Earl of Fairmont. Patty loved the Lord and was gifted with the talent and love of hospitality and taking care of others. She served as deaconess, Sunday School teacher, young adult leader and in every other capacity of her church. Everyone that was ever ill, getting married, having a baby or members that were shut-ins would receive the chicken and noodle dinner that she made with love. She called South Ridge Church of Fairmont her place of worship where she hosted a home group of wonderful friends. Patty loved her family, her grandchildren, and her two special angels, her great-grandchildren. She was so generous with her time, her love and her family. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now with the love of her life, Richard L. Drummond and her eternal life in heaven. The family would like to extend their thankfulness to Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care during mom’s final days. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Patty’s memory to South Ridge Church, 1659 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12 noon. A committal service will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
