Obituary of Virginia Eleanor Gower

Virginia Eleanor Gower, 89, of Grant Town, WV, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, December 24, 2022. She was born on March 23, 1933 in Zzar, WV in Randolph County, a daughter of the late Carl Francis and Bertha May (Loudin) Sipes. Virginia is survived by her loving husband Harvey Junior Gower. In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by a son, Douglas R. Gower and his wife Eraina, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 sons, Robert L. Gower, Roger A. Gower, Harvey D. Gower, and John R. Gower; daughter, Linda D. Lukins; 3 grandchildren, David Gower, Billy Lukins, Josh Gower; 3 brothers; 2 sisters. She worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed solving puzzles, watching television, and traveling. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. A committal service will be held at the WV National Cemetery, 42 Veterans Memorial Lane, Grafton, WV 26354 on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Reger officiating.
