Obituary of Mildred "Punkin" Duskey

Mildred “Punkin” Duskey, 74, of Baxter, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in the Fairmont Medical Center – WVU Medicine. She was born February 26, 1948 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Frederick Aldine Ash & Matilda Jane Carpenter Ash. She is survived by her husband Paul Russell Duskey. She is survived by 2 sons Fred Showalter & his wife Nicole of Fairview, WV and David L. Showalter of Baxter, WV, a daughter Trulie Ledsome & her boyfriend Geoff Phillips of Fairmont, WV, a brother Eddie Ash of Baxter, WV, a sister Doris Merrill of Fairmont, WV, 4 grandchildren Corey Ledsome & his wife Kayla, Carly Ledsome, Ashley Showalter & Brooke Showalter, a great granddaughter Sadie Rae Ledsome and several nephews & nieces. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Fred Ash & James Ash, 2 sisters Betty Lou Gorbey & Mary Ann Haught and a grandson Brandon James Showalter. Punkin was a retired secretary for the Walls Sanitation Co. of Blacksville, WV. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Baxter Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed playing softball, bingo and working WVU athletic events for Papa Johns Pizza. She loved being with family & friends, especially her grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street. Rivesville, WV 26588 on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 1-8 p.m. and Friday, December 23, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11:00 a.m. The committal service will follow in the McCurdysville Cemetery.
