Obituary of Philip "Phil" Edward Morgan

Philip “Phil” Edward Morgan, 69, of Rivesville passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Iaeger, WV on July 5, 1953, a son of the late Estil “Pete” Morgan and Nancy “Austine” Lester Morgan. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pamela “Pam” Yvonne Lester Morgan; daughters, Heather Lynn Digman and her husband David of Mannington and Amy Dawn Coen and her husband Robert of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Ryan Philip Digman, Pamela Grace “Gracie” Coen, and Rebecca “Becca” Rayne Coen; and brothers, Hershel Stanley Morgan and his wife Ruth of Iaeger and Joey Kendall Morgan and his wife Kim of Panther. Phil was a 1971 graduate of Iaeger High School and a retired coal miner with 43 years of service, where he was known as “Dog” to his many friends. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. He was an avid music lover and spent as much time with his grandchildren as possible. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Phil’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to the Marion County Humane Society, PO Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26554.
